Health & Fitness Guidelines
For your safety and enjoyment, some tours have physical requirements. Please read the following carefully before booking.
Heart conditions: Guests with serious heart conditions, high blood pressure, or cardiovascular disease should consult their doctor before booking adventure activities such as dune bashing, quad biking, or skydiving.
Pregnancy: Pregnant guests are not permitted on dune bashing, quad biking, or any high-impact adventure activities. Suitable alternative tours are available — please contact us.
Back & neck injuries: Guests with recent or chronic back, neck, or spinal injuries must inform us before booking any off-road or physically demanding experience.
General fitness: Most tours including desert safaris, city tours, and dhow cruises are suitable for all fitness levels. No prior experience or physical ability is required.

Dress Code & What to Wear
The UAE is a Muslim country and we ask all guests to dress respectfully. Certain tours also have practical clothing requirements for your comfort and safety.
Respecting UAE Culture
The UAE is a diverse, welcoming country with deep cultural roots. We ask all guests to dress modestly, especially when visiting mosques, souks, and heritage sites. Swimwear should be kept to beach and pool areas only.
Desert Tours
Comfortable, lightweight clothing. Long trousers and closed shoes recommended. Bring a light jacket for evenings — desert temperatures drop after sunset.
Cultural & Heritage Sites
Shoulders and knees must be covered. Women should bring a scarf for mosques. Scarves are available on request from your guide.
Dhow Cruises
Smart casual attire recommended. Flat shoes advised — heels can be hazardous on the boat. Bring a light layer for breezy evenings on the water.
Mountain & Hiking Tours
Sturdy closed shoes or hiking boots essential. Comfortable, breathable clothing. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and a light rain jacket for Hatta trails.
04 — Your Safety
Safety Rules & Responsibilities
Your safety is our highest priority. All RAH Tourism guides are certified, first-aid trained, and fully licensed by Dubai Tourism (DTCM).
Desert & off-road activities
Always wear your seatbelt during dune bashing. Follow all instructions from your guide. Do not stand up or open vehicle doors during dune bashing.
  • Minimum age for dune bashing: 4 years
  • Guests with neck/back injuries must inform the guide before the activity
  • Quad biking requires minimum age of 16 years and a signed waiver
Marine & cruise activities
Life jackets are provided and must be worn during water sports. Non-swimmers must disclose this when booking.
  • No swimming under the influence of alcohol
  • Children under 12 must wear life jackets at all times on water
Adventure & extreme sports
All adventure sports require signing a liability waiver. Full training and safety briefing is provided before every session.
  • Skydiving: min age 18, max weight 100kg, medical clearance required
  • All briefings are mandatory — missing a briefing means you cannot participate
Weather & environmental safety
Tours may be modified or cancelled in extreme heat, sandstorms, or high winds. In such cases, a full refund or free reschedule will be offered.
05 — Families
Children & Minors
We love welcoming families on our tours. Here are the guidelines for guests traveling with children.
Infants (0–2 years)
Infants travel free on most city and cultural tours. Not recommended on dune bashing or high-impact activities. Parent or guardian must always be present.
Children (3–11 years)
Children's pricing applies on most tours. Minimum age restrictions apply for adventure activities. Child seats available upon request for transfers.
Young Adults (12–17 years)
Welcome on all standard tours. For extreme sports, minimum age is 16–18 years with a signed parental consent form.
Supervision
All guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted on any tour.
06 — Respect & Conduct
Code of Conduct
We ask all guests to be respectful of UAE laws, local customs, and fellow travelers throughout their experience with RAH Tourism.
Respect local culture: Greet locals with respect. Public displays of affection are discouraged. Avoid loud or disruptive behaviour, especially in heritage and religious sites.
Photography etiquette: Always ask permission before photographing local people or private property. Photography is restricted in government buildings and military zones.
Alcohol & substances: Alcohol is not permitted on any RAH Tourism tour vehicle or activity. Guests under the influence may be refused participation with no refund.
Littering: The UAE has strict anti-littering laws. Littering in the desert or any natural environment is illegal. Dispose of all waste responsibly.
Follow guide instructions: Our guides are experienced professionals. Please follow instructions promptly during all safety-critical moments.
07 — Culture & Religion
Ramadan Guidelines
If you are visiting the UAE during the holy month of Ramadan, please be aware of the following customs and legal requirements that apply to all visitors.
Holy Month of Ramadan
The Sacred Month of Fasting & Reflection
Ramadan is the holy month during which the Islamic world commemorates the revelation of the Holy Quran and all Muslims are required to fast from dawn to dusk. Eating, drinking and smoking in public areas during daylight hours is strictly prohibited for all, throughout this month. Food is served at some restaurants and cafes, and in the hotels.
No eating in public
Eating and drinking in public spaces during daylight hours is prohibited by law for everyone — visitors included. This applies in streets, parks, shopping centres, and on transport.
No smoking in public
Smoking in public during fasting hours is also prohibited. Designated smoking areas inside hotels or private spaces may be available — please ask your hotel.
Hotels & restaurants
Food and drink remain available at hotel restaurants and selected cafes that operate behind screened areas during the day. Hotels are a safe and comfortable place to eat.
Noise & music
Loud music in public and inappropriate or provocative behaviour during Ramadan is considered disrespectful. Please keep volume levels considerate at all times.
Modest dress
Modest dress is especially important during Ramadan. Shoulders and knees should be covered in public places. This applies to all genders throughout the holy month.
Iftar — Breaking the fast
Iftar is the evening meal at sunset when Muslims break their fast. Visiting an Iftar is a wonderful cultural experience and many hotels and restaurants offer special Iftar buffets open to all.
